### Data Handling (post e-learning)

courtesy of Ms Loh

From the Bus Survey Project, we learnt how to gather real world data, make sense out of it by analysing the patterns and (we will) eventually make suggestions/recommendations based on data.

In the following video clip, we will learn how data (in the study of Statistics) has enabled mankind to make big and small decisions, that either impact the individuals or the bigger community.

Look out for the following key segments in Data Handling:

1. Describing Data
2. Producing Data
3. Conclusions from Data

From the video identify one key area that Statistics is used in the real world. Post you answer under comment.

Extension:
The projection of the World Population in the past, present and future.

1. Statistics can be used in the doctor's when the doctor wants to track the progression of a particular health problem.

2. Statistics is used to measure the progress of a type of medicine for certain
sickness.

3. Statistics are used to measure changes of an object, it records each days changes in a graph/chart, to make it easier for others to read it.

4. Statistics are for recording the changes in everyday life to further and more accurately assess the situation in the world

5. Statistics can record how something like in this case technology can change the world and it records the differences of time more or less accurately

6. Statistics can be used to find trends in the modern world and either improve on the trend if it is a good thing and try to find a solution if it is a bad thing.

7. Using statistics,we can produce data that can show us a pattern that can estimate the time and place of an incident.

8. Statistics can be used to describe data and to get through some message or things that we want to convey

9. We can use statistics to track the progress of the environment for example, the global warming and the rate of deforestation.

10. Statistics can be used to gain information and solve mysteries, saving lives and trouble

11. Statistic can be used to predict the future and prevent misfortune from happening. They can also be used to prove something to people.

12. Statistics can be used to record date and save lifes

13. Statistics is used to show a pattern to prove a fact so that it will be in their favour

14. Statistics is used to interpret given situations to find possible solutions.
It is also used to track the economic stability of a country over a period of time.

15. Statistics is the collecting or analyzing data in large numbers.
