histogram is "a representation of a frequency distribution by means of rectangles whose widths represent class intervals and whose areas are proportional to the corresponding frequencies."

    Histograms is a way of presenting data. It plots the frequency and variable of the thing. It looks like a bar chart.

    How is a histogram different than a bar chart?
    A bar chart very similar to a histogram is the bar chart. Bar charts are often used for qualitative or categorical data, although they can be used quite effectively with quantitative data if the number of unique scores in the data set is not large. A bar chart plots the number of times a particular value or category occurs in a data set, with the height of the bar representing the number of observations with that score or in that category.

    A histogram is "a representation of a frequency distribution in the shape of bar charts whose widths represent the different type of intervals and whose areas are proportional to the corresponding frequencies."and they are continuous.
    Difference between histogram and bar chart?
    Histograms are related to frequency and the intervals which in a way is continuous while bar graph is just purely inconsistent data representation in bar form.

  3. A histogram is like a bar graph but instead it has all the bars close together and it is used to show a frequency of continuous information which is non-discrete.

    A bar graph is information displayed in a bar at an instantaneous moment. There are spaces in between the bars, unlike the histogram.

  4. What are the differences between Histogram and Bar Graphs?

    A Histogram is a representation of a frequency distribution by means of rectangle which the widths of it represents the class intervals between each reading. It is different from a Bar Graph as a Bar Graph shows the number of things/item that happen/are there at that particular time and not represented over intervals of time. A histogram depends on the width of each rectangle but not a Bar Graph.

  5. Like bar graph, the Histogram shows the frequency of distribution, but unlike the bar graph, the histogram shows the frequency in intervals making it easier to compare.

    A diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval

    What are the differences between Histogram and Bar Graphs?
    A bar chart though is for categorical variables. The bars do not touch and the order in which the bars are listed does not matter.

    A histogram on the other hand is for discrete or continuous quantitative data. The bars touch and they are in numerical order from least to greatest.

  7. Histograms are like bar graph but they are used to show the frequency of distribution.And they are in order too. While Bar graphs are used to show different categories.And there is no need for the ordering of the Bars.

  8. A histogram has bars which have no space in between them. A histogram shows the frequency of a certain value, not the actual number. This allows very large numbers to be graphed on the graph. A histogram is also for discrete data only, not for continuous.

    A histogram is a display of statistical information that uses rectangles to show the frequency of data.

    How is a histogram different than a bar chart?

    A bar chart just shows the comparison of numerical values. But a Histogram give more specific details in the comparisons.There is a category or range when the numbers in the histogram are compared but it does not apply for bar charts. There are gaps between the bars of bar chart but there is no gap for histogram.

    Answer: In bar graphs are usually used to display "categorical data", that is data that fits into categories. But, Histograms on the other hand are usually used to present "continuous data", that is data that represents measured quantity where, at least in theory, the numbers can take on any value in a certain range.

    The difference between a histogram and a bar graphs are that in the bar graph they display data in categories but histograms is more specific as there is a range where the numbers in the histogram is compared so it is more specific as bar graph does not show any comparison. There are gaps in bat graph unlike histogram

  19. I feel quite satisfied by this blog and here is my few words about Histogram as-A graphical representation which shows a visual impression of the distribution of data termed as Histogram . Histogram consists of tabular frequencies which are shown as adjacent rectangles, with an area equal to the frequency of the observations in the interval.
